Subsea Bolt Tensioning Solution for East Bay Phase 2 Pipeline Project

Hi-Force Malaysia recently collaborated with Energy Equipment Tech Corporation (EET) on the 48” (1200 mm) East Bay Phase 2 submarine transmission pipeline project in Manila, Philippines. This critical pipeline forms an integral part of the new water treatment plant being developed by Manila Water Co. Inc. (MWC) in Metro Manila. The water treatment plant, designed with a capacity of 200 million litres per day (MLD), will include the development of reservoirs, pumping stations, storage facilities, control units, and pipelines to support the region’s growing water demand.

EET, contracted to carry out key works for this pipeline project, approached Hi-Force for the supply of high-performance subsea bolt tensioning equipment required for assembling multiple subsea flanges. Upon receiving the RFQ from the client, the Malaysia Sales team conducted a thorough review of the project’s requirements and promptly submitted a detailed proposal. Additionally, the team had several productive meetings with EET to address and resolve technical queries, which led to Hi-Force Malaysia securing the order for the subsea bolt tensioning equipment. The tools supplied included STU4 sub-sea tensioner load cells with quick fit pullers to suit stud bolt sizes of 1.7/8” and 48mm, AHP275BTU bolt tensioning pumps, IP5950 impact wrench and accessory items such as hoses, couplers, tommy bars and XHR hose reel.

In addition to supply, the Malaysia team also supported the client with bolt load calculations, and provision of on-site product demonstrations and safety trainings for the EET personnel. This further reinforced the client’s confidence in Hi-Force solutions and created additional business opportunities with other contractors on this prestigious project.
