HFG5006 cylinders used to lift vessel

HFG cylinders lift 33,622 tonne vessel

The rear of a Saipem FDS2 pipelayer vessel, weighing more than 33,000 tonnes was successfully lifted using 8 HFG5006 single acting failsafe lock ring cylinders, driven by two HEP517362 electric driven pumps.

The cylinders and support structures were initially placed in the dry dock. Divers then assisted the positioning of the vessel over the correct lifting points to keep the vessel level, using the failsafe lock ring cylinders.
