Hi-Force awarded 'Business of the Year 2019'

19 Nov 2019

On Thursday 7th November, Hi-Force was awarded ‘Business of the Year’ at the prestigious Northampton Business Awards 2019.

The ‘Business of the Year’ award strives to recognise notable achievements relating to impressive financial results, advancements in products as well as market breakthroughs. Submissions for this award are reviewed by an independent judging panel, and Hi-Force was delighted to have won, amidst 6 other shortlisted businesses.

As a proud ambassador for UK manufacturing, Hi-Force is continually investing in the expansive manufacturing facility, located in Daventry, through investments in state of the art machinery as well as recruiting highly skilled engineers and designers. Initiatives such as the apprentice scheme and the product innovation scheme support the company’s objectives in product advancements, ensuring the Hi-Force brand remains at the leading edge of hydraulic tool technology.

The Company’s focus on innovation and expertise is considered as a prime contributor to the impressive profitable growth that has taken place over recent years. The financial year ending March 2019 indicated an 11% increase in EBITDA, over the previous financial year ending March 2018, which delivered a 32% growth in EBITDA.

Hi-Force’s dedication to being a responsible manufacturer and employer is a further reason the business has achieved recognition as a Business of the Year finalist. In November 2018, Hi-Force achieved ISO 14001:2015 accreditation as a result of its environmental performance. The business reduced its industrial waste by 26.5% by partnering with reputable waste removal companies as well as favoring suppliers who are also ISO 14001:2015 accredited. These efforts also extend to our office environment through initiatives such as removing single use plastic in the workplace and introducing electric and hybrid cars within the business fleet.

The Hi-Force board of Directors attended the awards ceremony which was hosted by comedian Stephen K. Amos and featured performances from British soprano Faryl Smith. Speaking after the event, Hi-Force’s Group Managing Director said, “We are delighted to have won this award! What a fantastic night celebrating the success of businesses from around the county, we’re incredibly proud to be a Northamptonshire manufacturer.”
