Manufacturing of HHR5008 hollow cylinders

Hi-Force manufactures largest hollow piston cylinders to date

Continuing to invest heavily in the state-of-the-art Mori Seiki CNC machines, Hi-Force - the UK’s leading manufacturer and supplier of hydraulic tools -- has recently manufactured the largest hollow hydraulic cylinders to date. The build of two 500 tonne 8-inch hollow piston cylinders has been completed for Hi-Force UK’s distributor, HES Sales Ltd. The cylinders were designed by Hi-Force UK design engineer, Charlie Watts to meet the exact requirements of the end users.

The HHR5008 cylinders were machined in-house on the SL603 Mori Seiki CNC Lathe machine and completed two weeks ahead of schedule, highlighting the efficiencies of the manufacturing process at Hi-Force’s manufacturing facility. Commenting on this achievement, UK operations director Chris Dickinson says: “These are the biggest hollow cylinders we have produced to date, but still well within the SL603 lathe’s capacity so I don’t expect them to hold the record for long!”
